HGV Mechanic, Uxbridge, West London

Resolve Recruitment are working with a leading vehicle-for-hire company based in Uxbridge, West London, that are looking for a HGV Mechanic to join their team on a permanent basis

The Role;

• Ensuring that all service and inspection documentation is completed correctly according to company standards
• Working in a workshop environment using equipment in a correct manner
• Ensuring that all Health and Safety Regulations are being adhered to at all times
• Keeping your work space, and the workshop itself, are maintained to excellent housekeeping standards at all times
• Completing any additional ad-hoc duties as required or requested
• Communicating with your Foreman or Line Manager, any issues, complications or delays that may occur
• Contributing towards effective preventative maintenance with all vehicles
• Preparing, maintaining and submitting vehicles to company and government standards, ready for all annual tests and checks
• Planning and executing vehicle inspections, services, repairds and holding accountability for results

The Person;

• Must be able to manage all of their individual workload and assignments
• Must be abe to work within a team as well as individually
• Must supply their own tools as specified by the Company
• Must have excellent knowledge or mechanics, electric and current vehicle operating systems
• Must hold a full UK driving licence
• HGV qualifications such as Category C or CE would be advantageous
• Must hold a minimum City & Guilds Level 1&2 qualification
• Must have an excellent understanding of vehicle maintanence, requirements and procedures
• Must have excellent planning and time management skills
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills
• Must have excellent attention to detail, as well as strong decision making and problem solving skills
• Experience with refrigerated vehicles is advantageous
• Experience and knowledge of the Transport and Logistics Industry is beneficia

• Monday to Friday
• 07.30 -17.30
• £13.00-£17.00ph
• Overtime available
• Relevant in-house training is supplied
• PPE is available for staff
