Area Sales Manager, Scotland & Ireland Territories

Resolve Recruitment are proud to be working with the market leader in a niche product range dedicated to building professionals and DIY consumers. Due to continued growth, they now seek an experienced Area Sales Manager for the Scotland & Ireland regions who will be responsible for all sales activities for assigned accounts and for the development of new business throughout the region.

The role:

  • Work closely with all regional and key accounts in the area to maintain good relationships with existing customers and to develop new business by converting new accounts
  • Present and sell product range to current and potential new customers
  • Prepare action plans to identify new business and target accounts
  • Prepare presentations as required
  • Attend training to develop knowledge and skills
  • Attend site visits when required
  • Participate in trade shows, road shows, training sessions and events as required
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Work to agreed sales targets
  • Build professional relationships with internal departments e.g., Marketing, Customer Service and Finance
  • Act as the leader for the brand in across the assigned area
  • Flexible home working with regular visits to London based office for team meetings, travel throughout the UK for customer meetings and events as well as occasional travel to head office in France for training and other events

The person:

Essential qualifications & experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a business-related discipline
  • Experience of working in a practical product environment in the decorating, construction, or DIY markets
  • Specific experience of developing new business and working within the builder's merchant's channel
  • Key account experience or an ambition to move into a key account management role in the future

Essential skills, knowledge & abilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to influence at all levels of the business
  • Strong ability to engage with account customers and end users
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Good level of competence in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • A proven ability to take ownership and responsibility
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good ability to work with data

  • Able to demonstrate a strong work ethic
  • Displays a professional and credible manner
  • Based within the Midlands area
  • Flexibility to work from home in a suitable home-office environment and to visit a London based office for team meetings
  • Able to travel throughout the UK for customer meetings and events
  • Able to travel to head office in France occasionally for training and other events
